Many people think that men are more likely to cheat on women. But studies have shown that the reverse is also true and just as common. If you even have the slightest thought that you may be a victim of cheating, don't pass up the chance to find out if your girlfriend is cheating on you. Just because you think your relationship is rock solid and you trust your girlfriend 100% is no reason to brush your concerns off as paranoia.

With that said, not every girl who flirts with said guy will sleep with him. Most girlfriends never take it to those extreme depths, however it is still a major concern in many couples and the cause of many arguments and tension. If you still have a suspicion, take a look at the following points on how to tell if your girlfriend is cheating.

1) She spends a lot of time in the shops. If you have been involved with your girlfriend for any amount of time you would most certainly recognize her shopping habits and if there are any sudden or unexplained additions to her wardrobe. Even though some girls can be impulse buyers you may become puzzled if you find her wearing new clothes all the time despite the fact she only used to buy new clothes on special occasions. Take the purchase of new lingerie for example. Factor this into your thinking when you discover how to tell if your girlfriend is cheating.

2) Is your girlfriend driving more than usual? Check the mileage in the car in case there are a few hundred miles that are unaccounted for. With the prevalence of internet and online dating, cheating girlfriends may be more inclined to drive long distances to meet online hookups.

3) Check her receipts. This is a slight invasion of her privacy but you have a right to know if you are being taken advantage of. If you find receipts for men's cologne or tickets to a concert or movie you don't rememeber going to, then you might be onto something.

4) Is she taking money out of your wallet for things like gas, or a new pair of shoes or the latest CD? You ask yourself why she feels the need, since she has her own job and reliable income. Hint: her funds are being channeled elsewhere and you must take action on how to tell if your girlfriend is cheating right away.

5) Lastly, the obvious issue of a sky-high cell phone bill. The advantage with checking her bill is that you can view the dialed and received calls to see if there are any you recognize. All you need to do is grab her phone when she isn't looking and cross-reference the phone numbers. If you see 597 text messages from the same number and it isn't her best friend or her mother, then you might have a problem. If you are really game you could try ringing the number and listening to the voice on the other end.

However it would still be wise not to confront her at this early stage as your suspicions may be unfounded and you will do more harm than good if you bring the issue into the open. Such an accusation requires a bit of research and some evidence to back up your claims so she hasn't a moral leg to stand on if you do confront her.
