To many people, working from home is more of a joke, or viewed as more of a scam than anything else in most cases.  There is good reason for this because so called gurus offer false hope, and unfulfilled promises in return for the hard earned money of others.  Despite this, a legitimate home business is a thing of reality and can be successfully accomplished when the necessary work has been completed.  

Many people are working from home nowadays, doing all kinds of work to make money from home.  Some people sell information products in the form of ebooks, some sell their services to others, and others offer the opportunity to work from home by making money online.  There are of course other ways to make money from home, but these three are a few of the most well known.  

Some people are successful with these methods of making money from home, but most are not.  There are actually many reasons why people continue to be unsuccsessful; lack of perseverance, lack of work, jumping from one company to another, doing work that produces little results, making purchases that are not needed, etc.  In short, many people are either purchasing products and things from the so called gurus that do not actually help, or they aren't getting work done that needs to be done each day.  

The phrase is "working from home", which should tell you that there is some work required.  However, false hope and false promises spread by the so called gurus leads us to believe that working from home is more like making money from home without doing a bunch of stuff at all.  This is not true at all, and the home business market has become corrupted by these "gurus" who make money off of the people who are trying to get a home business up and running, which in turn leads to the failure and frustration that we see so much of today.  

A guru is actually a type of spiritual leader who teaches people the ways of wisdom.  I'm not really sure why people who make tons of money online are called gurus because they are nothing like an actual guru by definition.  They are more like people who take from the poor only to feed the rich.  If you think about it, no one who is successfully making money online needs anything that a "guru" is offering, so the only people funding the efforts of the "gurus" are the ones not making the money.  After these people buy a bunch of this stuff being sold by "gurus", they end up with losses and not profits.  Now, some of the fault can surely go to people being unwilling to do necessary work, but most of the fault must go to the "gurus" thanks to the false hope and false promises they promote.  

People need to know that working from home actualy requires work, and it is far from what the "gurus" would lead you to believe it is like.  There are many ways to work from home and make money online, but you don't need any "gurus" to accomplish such a thing.  In fact, don't ever buy any products or services unless you absolutely need them for your business.  Start out by doing your research.  Find out as much as you can about your area in the home business market, and then comitt to completing the necessary work.  Don't listen to anything that sound too good to be true, and don't buy anything that promotes no work.  There is always work to be done, and unless it gets done there will be no success to be had.
