Let's talk about using an E-Book compiler. What is that?
After writing your E-Book, you can use an E-Book compiler to convert text, or HTML into a single file. If you have graphics in your HTML, you will need this. The first thing to do is choose a compiler that fits your needs.

There are many different compilers to choose from. You need to know some things such as: Does the compiler convert HTML or PDF? Is the program easy to use? Does the compiler come with a manual, set up wizard, or free trial? What are the security features? You don't want the readers changing your information. What scripts does the compiler support? Are you able to use menus, special effects, graphics, links, etc.? What browser version does the compiler support? Choose a compiler based on what you need it to do, and not because of appearance, or price.

You want a compiler that will secure your content, so that it cannot be changed. To test a compiler, open an E-Book with one, check the temporary directory on your computer; if there are files while the E-Book is open and running, that means your computer is decompressing secure data from the E-Book before allowing it to be viewed. This is not secure. You need better protection so that your information cannot be stolen.

Check the passwords supported by the compiler that you choose. You want secure, user friendly, and open password generation. A compiler that has internal password generation in its software is more secure than those linking to internal password systems. You can choose the payment processing system if the compiler generates passwords online. The best compilers allow 2GB without decompressing HTML or images to hard disc. 2GB can support about 6GB of compressed data. Although, only text files are usually compressible.

Choose a compiler that will work on your computer, and one that comes with an installation program. Check what kind of support a compiler provides; unlimited is the best. Check the version numbers of the compilers, those with higher numbers may have the most bugs worked out of them.

Consider all of the options when choosing your E-Book compiler. Remember, choose a compiler based on what you need it to do. Prices will vary, and some may be marketed better than others, but that doesn't make them better.
