If you are marketing your website, you will want to accumulate as many dofollow backlinks as possible.  The more dofollow backlinks that you have pointing back to your website, the higher your website will rank in the search engines for your keywords.  This is also assuming that you have unique content, and that you have incorporated Search Engine Optimization into your business.

First we must understand the difference between a dofollow link, and a nofollow link. A dofollow link is any link that is crawled by Google, and will show up in the html like this:

<a href='http://www.init-2-winit.org'>Legitimate Work At Home Jobs</a>

A nofollow link is any link that is not crawled by Google, and it will show up in html like this:

<a href='http://www.init-2-winit.org' rel='nofollow'>Legitimate Work At Home Jobs</a>

Do you see the difference? If a website is giving you a nofollow backlink the attribute rel="nofollow" will show up within your link.  You can view the html of your backlinks by hitting view source, or page source in your view tab, and if any of them are nofollow, you should see it in the html.

Now that we know the difference between a dofollow and nofollow backlink, we need to know where to find the dofollow links. This will take research on your part. Generally, Blogger and WordPress blogs will tend to give you a nofollow backlink when you leave comments, unless the blog owners have changed that by using various plugins on their blogs. To find blogs that you can comment on and receive a dofollow backlink, you will simply need to do a search. There are lists of blogs that will give you a dofollow backlink, and some even let you know by using the 'U Comment I Follow' slogan on their blog.

Many social media sites often give dofollow backlinks, but not all of them. To make sure you are using the social sites that give you a dofollow backlink you will simply have to do some more research. Some of the big name sites like; Mixx, Digg, and Propeller, give dofollow backlinks.  When you submit a link to any of these sites, along with a title, description, and keywords, the link pointing back to that site should be a dofollow.

Another good way to get more dofollow backlinks is by creating Squidoo Lenses, or HubPages. These are websites that allow you to create articles, complete with photos, ads, and videos. You will be able to earn income from the affiliate sources you use(at least on HubPages), and you can also get dofollow backlinks by adding your website url.

Getting dofollow backlinks is easy, and necessary in order to receive organic traffic from the major search engines like Google.  Organic traffic is free targeted traffic, and brings visitors to your site based on keywords that the search engines recognize on your site.  Nofollow backlinks are still beneficial, as they can deliver traffic to your site, however, dofollow backlinks are much more beneficial because not only can they deliver traffic to your site directly, but indirectly through the search engines as well.

I love to blog and I also love to reward my readers for leaving comments in my blog too. That is why I also remove “nofollow” for my comments section too.

However, adversely, I receive too many spams such that at times I felt like turning it off.

How come people out there cannot properly read a blog post and leave his/her most honest opinions? Is it really that tough?
