There may be a lot of skepticism about electric cars these days, but they are currently in the works, and they couldn't come soon enough while consumers are seemingly getting their pockets drained by high rising fuel costs. Next year it is expected that electric cars will begin to be brought out into the mainstream, and while they will not be sold as cheap as some of the cars that we have out now, they may still be affordable to many consumers, especially based on the amount that will be saved.
How will electric cars handle compared to the cars we have now?
Electric cars will supposedly handle very well. Some cars will be able to reach 60 mph in 6 seconds, and more expensive cars will be able to reach 60 mph in 4 seconds.
Solar power may even be able to benefit your new electric car. One of the options to go along with some of these cars will be solar generation. Solar generation could be attached to your house which will generate electricity during the day, which in turn will re-charge the car.
We've been burning up gasoline now for far too long, and new options are starting to pop up. The electric cars that are in the making will produce less pollution, and will not be near as dependant on foreign oil, if at all. Electric cars could be out already, and some may be, but it takes time, money, and hard work to build a great car for the future. Until then, I am sure that we will be waiting patiently.
If an electric car came out that was just as reliable as any car we have now, would you buy one? Let me know about it in my alternative energy forum. Dave Earley More alternative energy:
