| Dofollow Social Media Sites With PageRank (2009) |

Just in case you have not heard, not all backlinks are created equal. There are those that will send you direct traffic, as well as organic traffic from the search engines based on the link building strategy (dofollow), and there are those that will just send you direct traffic (nofollow). A nofollow link is any link not followed by Google, thanks to the attribute rel="nofollow" that gets added within the html. Nofollow links will not help you increase your sites rankings within the search engines, whereas dofollow links are followed by Google, and will give your site a boost in the search engine results. Why would anyone add rel="nofollow" to a link? This is a good question. Why not just give everyone a dofollow backlink? As you may know, commenting on most blogs nowadays will generally get you a nofollow backlink, unless you know where to look for the dofollow blogs. Likewise, some social media sites give dofollow backlinks, while others give nofollow backlinks. I believe that the main excuse for nofollow backlinks is spamming. Spammers comment on blogs with their useless information, leaving links to their useless sites, and they want to increase their rankings as well. By incorporating the nofollow attribute, Google is taking away that ability to easily boost any site up within the rankings, at least not without some hard work and good old research, and if most spammers were willing to do that, then they might just market a legitimate opportunity or website of some kind. Anyway, we know that dofollow links are the backlinks that we want, and we want to know where to find them. Here is a list of the top social media sites for 2009 right now, along with their PageRank, and yes they are dofollow:
Not many actually, at least out of all the social media sites that are out there, but it's enough to make a difference for the little guy. Obviously the ones with high PR are the ones you will want to use for sure, but feel free to take advantage of all of them as they are dofollow. Some of these do require an invite such as CoRank and BlogMarks. I am in CoRank, so if you need an invite just let me know. Other sites that normally do not work well for me are; Yattle, Tagza, Ez4u, and Bmaccess. Also know that Furl has been taken over by Diigo(nofollow PR7), and Lycos IQ is non operational right now. Tratata is a new site that I found, and it appears to be a way to get dofollow backlinks from Twitter posts. Neat stuff.
